About FoVI3D

Founded in 2015, Austin-based small business FoVI3D is dedicated to developing revolutionary 3D visualization technologies to support natural collaboration and enable rapid decision making in high-stress environments. FoVI3D’s PRISM 3-person collaborative workstation is ergonomically designed to allow direct eye access enabling effective communication; provides a configurable 2D touch panel for ease in access to information; and contains a software framework that enables operators to move from an immersive common operational picture mode for all 3 users to an independent view for task specific operations.
As pioneers in light-field display visualization, FoVI3D continues to push the envelope in the research and development of a frameless, tileable, spatial light modulator, the ActiveHogel, designed to accommodate large format light-field displays (LfD) for natural, collaborative 3D visualization without the use of goggles, glasses, or eye-tracking. FoVI3D has an exceptionable patent portfolio in in collaborative light-field enabling technologies.

FoVI3D has been awarded over $6m in both government and commercial contracts supporting 3D visualization technologies and has put together a robust patent portfolio validating the unique approach and vision within this 3D space. Natural collaborative 3D visualization continues to be supported and funded by the Department of Defense to facilitate effective decision making, enhance situational understanding, and reduce the cognitive burden on operators. The ability to collaborate over complex 3D information transcends multiple verticals such as AEC and energy infrastructure where the digital twin is changing the way companies design, simulate, monitor, and improve systems, structures, and even entire cities.
