Specifically, 1. Late Detection of Cognitive Decline Most memory-related issues like dementia or Alzheimer’s go undetected until significant symptoms emerge, reducing the effectiveness of early interventions. 2. Fragmented Caregiving Tools Families often juggle spreadsheets, sticky notes, outdated apps, and memory to manage their loved one’s needs. This creates gaps in care and increases the risk of burnout. 3. Loss of Meaningful Stories and Relationships As memory fades, so do the stories that define a person’s life. Without a simple way to capture and revisit these stories, families lose valuable opportunities for connection and legacy-building. The healthcare system isn’t designed for daily, nuanced, memory-centered support. Families need a gentle, intelligent companion that preserves identity, detects changes early, and bridges the caregiving gap without overwhelming them. TESSA is stepping in to fill that void with warmth, insight, and tech that actually cares.

We are very early pre-seed and have already gotten asked to trial the product with a large memory care facility company. We have developed 4 prototypes to test with different persona to get at the key user needs and pain points. We have surveyed 100+ users and deep interviewed several.
