Joypad is building the intelligent controller platform for gaming. JoypadOS makes controllers interoperable across consoles and devices, while Joypad AI gives controllers the ability to see, hear, speak, assist, and eventually play alongside their owners. The company’s technology spans open-source controller firmware, universal adapter hardware, browser-based controller diagnostics, OEM licensing, and an AI-native controller currently in development.

Game controllers remain fragmented across consoles, generations, operating systems, and proprietary protocols. Players frequently cannot use the controller they already own on another device, diagnose hardware problems easily, or carry their preferred controls and accessibility setup between platforms. At the same time, controllers have remained passive input devices even as AI becomes capable of understanding games, responding to players, and acting inside interactive environments.
Joypad is building a universal hardware and software platform for controllers. JoypadOS is an open-source controller firmware and compatibility layer that enables adapters, custom controllers, and licensed hardware to communicate across otherwise incompatible platforms. Joypad AI extends that platform into physical AI. Its controllers can perceive gameplay, communicate with the player, provide contextual assistance, and take actions through the same device already in the player’s hands. Joypad also operates a free browser-based controller tester that helps players diagnose buttons, analog sticks, triggers, vibration, pressure sensitivity, and stick drift without installing software.
