Problem statement

In austere and prolonged casualty care environments, the ability to make swift clinical decisions is not just critical - it's a matter of life and death. Medical professionals in these situations often work under intense stress, constrained resources, and in conditions where traditional telehealth support is impractical due to limited or no connectivity. In these circumstances, the challenge of managing multiple casualties concurrently can lead to cognitive overload, which can significantly impede the effective delivery of care.

Traction information

SimWerx has received multiple DoD and State awards for technology acceleration totaling over $3.6 million since its inception in 2020, which is a testament to the critical need and demand signals across the DoD for innovative technology. Their customers include US Army Special Operation Command, Naval Special Warfare, AF Special Operation Command, AF Training & Education Command, & AF Air Combat Command, Centura Health Pre-Hospital Services, Denver Health Paramedics, Air Medical, and Apollo MedFlight, Classic Air Medical, and Air Methods.

SimWerx also works closely with medical modeling, machine learning, computer vision, and simulation training experts at the Center for Research in Education and Simulation Technologies at the University of Washington (CREST-UW), Applied Research Associates (ARA), CU Anschutz Center for Combat Medicine and Battlefield (COMBAT) Research, and Denver Health Simulation Center.
