Wesley A. Wierson

Founder

Biography

Wes is a parallel biotech entrepreneur and has been a gene editor for over a decade, training at Iowa State University first using TALENs during undergrad research and next with CRISPR technologies during his PhD. After inventing technology to precisely engineer the genome during his PhD, he founded and has been CEO of LEAH Labs since 2018, the first gene editing company to be accepted into Y Combinator. LEAH Labs’ is using generative biology to design new to nature modalities that uplift CAR-T cell therapies, working to bring them to pets and people. He founded UViiVE because of the "why now" - he realized there would never be a better time to launch a platform for designer peptides commercialized outside of traditional biotech regulatory frameworks. Plus - putting sunscreen on 2 kids sucks ;)
