Every year, $70 billion of green building incentives are offered by government entities and utility companies, but over 50% of them go unclaimed. These incentives are not easy to find and capture, so many property owners miss out on major savings, wasting both financial and environmental resources in their building-related projects.

Drivers of the problem:

50% of US existing building stock is over 40 years old and hasn’t been upgraded. Buildings that haven’t been upgraded for this long, can have monthly electric and water and gas bills that are higher than mortgage payments or a lease payments or a loan payments.

Increasing natural disasters are causing a rise in property damage and owners have to rebuild green otherwise they can’t get their property insured.

Increasing green building (or ESG) mandates means that property owners have to build green if they want to take out a home improvement loan or commercial construction loan; and in certain parts of the U.S. only green building is permitted.
